Bebop Bar has been an anchor of the live music scene for years, drawing a mix of Thai and foreign musicians for nightly sets that lean toward blues, jazz, and rock. Edible Jazz is another spot worth finding, a bit more relaxed in setup with a crowd that tends to linger over drinks through the music. Scattered between these anchors you will find smaller bars with reggae nights, occasional jam sessions where whoever shows up with an instrument tends to join in, and a handful of spots that sit open-air along the river where the draw is more the night air and the sound of the Pai River than any particular act.

Pai's late-night food scene is one of the better arguments for embracing the town's early closing hours rather than fighting them. The Night Market and the food stall clusters along Walking Street stay open well into the night, offering grilled meats on skewers, pad thai cooked to order, mango sticky rice, and the kind of rotating noodle soups that are easier to find here at midnight than they are at noon. A few twenty-four-hour spots cater specifically to the night crowd, including a couple of roti stalls that develop a cult following among people stumbling back from the bar district. Worth noting is that the closer to last call you get, the thinner the food options become, so eating before or during your bar crawl rather than strictly after is the sensible move in Pai.
